Gents,

Entry for this years supercar drag race event is now open. This year the event will be run over a standing mile, and the variety of cars will be greater although the emphasis being firmly on factory tuned cars. Nickccc will hopefully carry the flag for the factory tuned Cerbs against the factory spec supercars, however, the fastest overall Cerb debate is an interesting one, and between the three of you should be close!

I will be using my 4.2 as a standard 4.2 although I do have a slot for a circa 420hp standard 4.5 and a 350hp Speed Six Cerbie.

Details and entry at www.fightingtorque.org

I thought id got all the bits together but the rods in my existing engine dont fit my new big pistons!!! grrrr..however i hope to have the right rods by end of next week, and the following week the new 6.9, flowed and fully ballanced beastie should live and breath, so yep all things equal i'm in!bounce

Brummmie what happened with the rods?

Did you buy 0.927" pin rods or rods sized for standard LS size pins?

And what rods are you getting now?

I started to put a reply up earlier saying why not invite you Mike , but then isn't it for road/production cars only ? so i never bothered posting it. Would be good to see how it compared to the big boys though!

Lets just point out that Longbows standard 4.2 was up there last year with the fastest. His launch technique was brilliant.

Hi smile

I just had my application turned down for Fighting Torque because "Nitrous is a no"

That will cut out all the Tvrs on Nitrous as well....

Unless it was my 1350 hp they didnt like smile

All the best Brett smile

Hi smile

Good question....I was about to spend around 2k to improve my standing starts, so I don't do another full quarter with the rears spinning all the way lol...

That 2k would have been just for this event....so at least I saved some money smile

Brett, out of interest how long can you hold a nitrous hit? Also, if you entered your best mod would be wheelie bars, lol.

Hi smile

Wheelie bars wouldn't help , as my front does not lift, its just that even my 10 x 18 rears with huge tyres have a problem putting down over 1000 hp....

Time for my Nitrous hit.....

Well....with my Pro Race system....until one of two things happen....

Either until my 2 x 15 lb bottles run out...by which time I would probably be doing well over 250 mph...

or

Until the big bang as my standard engine or transmission dropped out smile

The only reason I might have used a chute by the way was in case they didn't have enough shut down area for over 200 mph....which in my case would mean over 800 yards for safety....

All the best Brett smile

Cheers Brett, what't the longest hit you've survived? Don't get me wrong, I'm not being picky but am interested. You can pm me if you like. Are you running lower c/r?

Hi smile

It doesn't do quarters well at all lol....as it was designed by me for Top Speed runs with a rolling start....

But when I last did some testing at the Pod it ran a 17 second quarter....with absolutely no traction for the WHOLE QUARTER . WITH REARS SPINNING straight through the top end.....

I kid you not , I even have a video of it lol....

From xmas tree to top end , it was like the biggest rolling burnout you ever saw...smilesmile

All the best Brett smile
