Never managed to better this and boy did it kill me doing it, but had to prove to the mrs the Ro can be economic!!
By driving at 65 mph all the way....
This mpg is from door to door, not just motorway cruising, including cold start.
And to prove it, the other 2 readings below....

Very impressive although TBH I'd much rather shove angry wasps up my arse than try to get 30mpg out of mine. A mixture of driving yields a healthy 17mpg which is much more like it!

As I said, have never got anywhere close again - this took EXTREMELY careful use of the accelerator - Had some time to kill so journey time was not a priority, That said probably most other cars who passed me doing 65-75mph probably got over 30 mpg average.....
Same journey, "normal" driving yields 22-23 mpg. I would have to do some serious loud pedalling to get 17 mpg average in mine....!

I ONCE managed to beat 20mpg, reaching a maximum of 20.4mpg average. As Roger (of the Fish) commented today, it's usually around the 13-14mpg area. The trek to Buckingham/Milton Keynes today, and back brought me up to 15.7mpg average...
it'll soon drop again.

Is that "driving miss daisy" style or normal driving with occasional spirited blasts?

Normal road driving with `sprints`. But unless I`m in a hurry or playing I always hook a high gear asap and no load it when there`s room.

Am running a 3.07 diff which has given me a fair improvement on economy, especially in 6th gear.

And I never use the cruise control even on a long trip as its far to aggressive for economy.

Just dropped my car of with the Fish (Fleet to GT Horwood back roads) and it`s showing 27.6
