Hi guys, first post in the jag section, as you can probably tell i'm normally a VW/porsche person.
my problem is i just got a X-Type estate which i must say is far better than i origionlly thought it was going to be!
BUT my old car stereo had a 3.5mm jack to plug my iphone straight into, the jag doesnt? so i have tried the obligatry fm transmitters, still get loads of hiss, had a look at the back of the stereo no other inputs not even for a multi-changer?
any ideas????

I had a similar problem with my S Type but found that I could get the FM transmitter to work without hiss provided it was reasonably close to the arial. (Could prove a bit of a bmy problem is i just got a X-Type estate which i must say is far better than i origionlly thought it was going to be!

h if the arial is in your rear screen and you don't have a remote)Jaguar do an official accessory called an ACM (Audio connectivity module). Allows you to connect an ipod, USB stick or aux in and control them from the original stereo. The connectors live in the cubby hole under the arm rest & the rest of the unit is hidden.
About £350 fitted at a dealer or get one from ebay & fit yourself. Not all that difficult.

The ACM fits all X-types, All Aluminium XJ's & all S-types after the 2002 facelift.
If the car in question doesn't already have a cd changer in the boot then the head unit needs a "Reflash" at a jag dealers or independent garage to activate the CDC button on the head unit.
I got my ACM for £90 of ebay, fittted in about 1.5 hrs & had the head unit re-flashed at an independant in 5mins. (No charge).
I use a 4GB memory stick which holds about 80 CD's worth of MP3's.
