Track Day Wear
Discussion
Now then, I'm thinking of doing a track day at Elvington next month, but I've been advised against it by others on the grounds that the surface will take a toll on the little Lise's suspension and tyres.
What do people think?
I'm basically trying to get somewhere to find the limits of my car off the road, and have a good time before Autumn sets in!
Cheers,
AL

the surface there is very abrasive, one good day will finnish off a set of tyres, appart from that, no problem..What do people think?

Not likely to put any undue wear on the suspension then?
Do you think I'd get through a set of pads in a day?
not unless you drive it non-stop 9-5 !Do you think I'd get through a set of pads in a day?

do 15 min sessions, to let yourself and the car cool down in between and you will be fine.
Elvington is an old airfield and made of concrete so as Scuffers says above - its just extra abrasive on tyres, and you sure could finish off the set you have on easily...in fact best keep an eye on them so you are legal going home
