997 Luggage Compartment Switch

Anyone know how the switch on the 997 luggage compartment located in the door sill operates?
Is it a electrical switch or a manual lever, as mine seems to have stopped working.
Anyone know how to repair it or will it need a replacement unit?

electrical, does the luggage comp open with the key still..

Yes the key fob still opens it, its just the switch that seems to not be working.

Is this an easy fix ? ... same happens on mine ... switch on door sill is intermittent, switch on key fob is OK

Mine needed a new switch, which from memory wasnt that expensive at the opc
