There is a lot of info on here about what you should be looknig for. Buy on condition, look/drive a few etc, etc.
Go have a look at all 3, see how you feel in them. If you can, get them up in the air and have a look underneath. Then buy based on that.
5 litres maybe nice. But I can assure you there is nothing sluggish about a 4.5

I have read all the info on here (and owned a T350T and f355 so know about servicing etc), I just wondered if i was missing anything with these 3, too be honest 400 450 or 500 doesnt really matter as much as condition, they are all fast enoughGo have a look at all 3, see how you feel in them. Hard to say without seeing the cars, but overall, I'd say the Pistonheads 450 is the best value - quite a low price for a 450...if you can live with the colour.
The R plate 4.0HC won't be an HC as far as I'm aware, as I think they'd stopped the HC by then. You might want something slightly quicker than a 4.0, depending on what you're used to. Not that they're slow...
The green 500 looks a nice car at a decent price. Green ones always seem to be harder to sell/cheaper.
I'm sure I've managed to offend lots of people with those suggestions!

I see your in notts, your welcome to come over and have a look over mine one evening or weekend, its not for sale but it gives you a feel of wot to look for.
p.s. its a 500 so you can then see how you find the 4ltr's :-)
Thanks for the replies guys
and thanks for the offer Mak (my only worry would be i would definitely want a 500 if i went out in one
).
keep them coming, so apart from the obvious outriggers/chassis, water leaks electrics are there any particular engine problems i should be checking for?

the 500 is a cat d repaired (I phoned this one myself!) shame.
Ive owned all 3 variants and I'd go look at the 450 - if its 'proper' a 450 gives good value at that price. (tho not most peoples best colour)

I have other photos of the 450 and it does look nice, i actually like the colour in the pics does it look different in the flesh

Mine is now a cat D repaired. I can tell you that it is now a better car than before! Dont rule out a cat D car too quickly. If photos and documentation of the damage is available it may be a great car. But must be priced accordingly to some extent.Ive owned all 3 variants and I'd go look at the 450 - if its 'proper' a 450 gives good value at that price. (tho not most peoples best colour)
Mines a beauty. Top dollar, top car!
You will get what you pay for in most cases.
