Yep one of the first to own it. Had a 910 but it wouldn't charge so decided to buy a new one. I find the 930T has software problems. Use it as a hands free kit via bluetooth a lot. Crashes loads, can't tell you how many times I have had to press the reset button. Shame because when it is working properly it's great.

Well as a follow up. Last week plugged the 930 into the pc to update speed cameras. With it came a large software update package. Since then it has worked perfectly. It does work well on bluetooth hands free. But have always used the seperate mic. that came with the 910. If you have a noisy vehicle, it can be difficult to hear a caller at high speed as the speaker in the TomTom is quite small. I certainly found this when I was driving my Connect van. But had no such problems in my Merc car. The traffic bit seems to work very well and re-routes you when there is a problem ahead.
You can check on the tomtom website to see if your phone is compatible with the 930T. My Nokia N95 8GB wasn't. Have fitted the CK15 Nokia phone kit using a plug in loom to connect it to the radio. Works really well and is very simple to fit.I would recommenend it. Geoff

Whats the inbuilt microphone like on the 930 models ?
I have a 510 and without the ext. mic. it is crap.
They stopped including the external mic. on the x20 and x30 models. Is this to reduce costs ? or has the mike been improved so much it was deemed unnecessary ?

Thanks again, looks like it's time to buy, Dixons expect stock next week and are offering the 930T @£315 which seems a good deal.

Sounds a good price. I did buy the 1st one Halfords, Crawley had sold. They had a TomTom promo there with a VW van in that strange green TomTom colour. They took my picture. Gave me a snot green brolly and a laptop bag. Then the TomTom Rep and the Halfords salesman stood around disscusing who was going to do the setup demo. In the end they both decided they where to busy, and I had to do it myself.

Sorry Geoff - but I was here all the time hehe

On a side-note - are you still having problems with your 930T?

I'm in the market to buy one, and undecided between the 530T and 730T (I've no need for US maps).

I'm figuring that the 530T is the best option, as it's the very latest model - so might have any bugs fixed from the 730/930. Also I don't think I have a need for Europe maps.

530/730/930 are all the latest models, 530 is UK/Ireland, 730 is Eastern and Western Europe, 930 is E/W Europe, USA, Canada and Guam.

The hardware between 5&730 is the same as 5&720, only the maps and software differ - the 920/930 has enhanced positioning hardware (an accelerometer, basically) that helps it navigate after GPS lock has been lost, but only the 920/930 have this. Again, the hardware is identical.

Thanks for that Fred - I was given the impressions that 530 has some new updates (not software) that the 730/930 does not have - hence the delay in releasing it (it came later than the 730/930).

Nah nowt like that unfortunately. The delay to market of the 530 was simply because people rarely buy local versions of sat navs in mainland europe, therefore if they can rush a full euro unit to market, they can reap as much profit as possible straight away, before spending money making localised cut down versions for more specific countries (such as us, since we're floating on the coast of euroland!)

Seems ok now. Just come back from a weekend in Belgium. 350 miles and not a problem. Also done a 800 odd miles at work with it since its update download. The only thing not working is the audible warning for speed cameras. Must be something simple to switch on in the menu. But cant find it yet.
To be fair to TomTom. It might have been that my phone wasn't compatible with it. I assummed all the latest bluetooth Nokias would work with the latest TomToms.
