Hello all,

Thanks

I have used EBC Reds, without problems, currently use EBC yellows. They seem to work well too from cold.

Rear calipers, if standard AP racing 2 pot calipers, use Rover mini front pads.

 they are off a Metro!

Mini's use these pads but only when the calipers have been upgraded to 4 pots, you can also use the metro fitting kit to stop the clicking.

As for the pads remember if you change the compoundon the rear then you need to do the same on the from to maintain balance.

No, THEY'RE ROVER MINI, to be precise:

ROVER Mini Cooper S: 63-71
ROVER Mini 1275 GT (10 wheels): 70-73

This type of rear caliper (2 pot) AP racing.

Uses Mini front pads, see EBC Red and Yellow boxes:

And the pad details are:

And, to the best of my knowledge the Cerb' never had 4 pot calipers on the rear. The Tuscans etc used a more traditional single sided caliper.

Agree with you Tim. When I bought mine, I asked for Mini front pads and the above part number came up.

Are the front brake calipers the same?

I understand that the 4.5 uses larger discs, but is it the same caliper with a spacer bracket?

The site linked in the posts above shoes the same part numbers for fronts for 4.2 and 4.5.

Tim,

My findings were the same as yours ie the older mini style.

However, upon removing mine it turns out that they have a vent down the disc facing face, and for the life of me I can't find any that have a vent. Do the EBC ones have a vent?

If not where on earth did these ones come from?

I think the original pads i removed had 'vents', or more accurately a groove, down the middle of the friction material, I can't see that this would be critical for a replacement pad.

The EBC Reds do have a groove, but without removing them, I can't remember if the yellows do.

The callipers are different. The 4.5 callipers have 6 bolts holding the two calliper halves together. The 4.2 only have 4 bolts and can't be used with the larger diameter disc. Can't remember the exact numbers abut a search should turn up a recent thread (couple of months ago) that discussed the differences.

You're right but they're both CP5200 AP racing calipers and use the same pads.

Blast. I have the discs (inc bells) and the spacers - looks like I need to source a set of calipers as well.

Ah well, the calipers are no use to you, sell them to me as I expect you'll be glad of the space wink
