Thanks guys... should have posted my Flickr... alot more on there... but that Victor shot is special
http://www.flickr.com/photos/goldeeno/

That Victor shot used no lighting, it was shot on natural light at about 00:30am. The Ball of light to the left is actually Thursday Nights full moon. So all the light came from that and a 216 second exposure, hence the slight star trail. I adjusted the levels to even the shadows on the jet but thats all.

Simon: For that elise i used a single flash. Camera on tripod for 30 second exposure. Flash on 1/4 power, fired at 45 degrees roughly to the front head lights 1 from each side. Switched the flash to 1/8th power, fired 1 flash through side windows. Also fired 1 at 1/4 toward the Lotus Sport badge on the side, hence the hot spot on the floor.

Processing, quite a bit of masking and altering of curves and levels to even the paintwork. Black and White 1 layer then removed the stripes to reveal colour under layer. Shocking attempt and masking the hotspot, i think a gradient boarder might help.

Hope this helps, it was my first proper go at using a flash on a car, and with other cars parked close by it wasnt easy!

Awesome Victor...truly a wonderful shot. Lighting really makes the image. Great capture.

lovely shot of the victor mate - how did you get the exposure to last that long?

Most probably B mode or "bulb" This enables the photographer to hold the shutter down for as long as they like, it is easier to use a shutter release cable and sit back and relax.

Yup you got it, brought a cable release off ebay, was about £6 i think, you push the shutter down, then has a lock position... then go drink red bull biggrin come back later.

Victor shot is amazing, looks like something out of Grand Theft Auto, it has a real CGI feeling about it.
