Yes, we (ie PHEA www.phea.co.uk) have attended this several times in the past, and whilst the cars are extremely high quality, the price has risen each year and the organisation has got worse. Hence we decided to give it a miss this year and do Duxford instead. But of course you and anyone else can go as individual entrants if you want (assuming the closing date hasn't passed)

I'd check the venue before heading up to Halesworth
Helmingham Hall is the one near Ipswich (where the classic car show is)
Heveningham Hall is the one near Halesworth
I went last year (with PH) and had a good day, but it was a queue to get in, and the runs down the drive are a bit tame in most cases.
An enjoyable day, but not a "long journey to get to" kind of day, if that makes sense.

Where can I find details of the Duxford event? the PHEA.co.uk website doesn't seem to be working?
www.phea.co.uk - my post got the bracket in the URL as well.Duxford info at http://duxford.iwm.org.uk/server/show/conEvent.213...
I see you have three cars to bring!!

Just looking at the sites, and the Heveningham Hall day is on Sunday 6th July.
I may stick the C in, but I fancy the concours bit at Helmingham....
We'll see, Duxford is a bit of a hike for the family, as we'd have to take two cars. We'll see.

It's certainly a great thing to do once or twice, so go for it; however like all things after about year three it gets a bit repetitive and I for one am happy to sit back and watch the others go
But if you haven't been before, you'll have a great day. Just don't expect to win a prize when you've got a Blower Bentley on one side, a gullwing Merc on the other and something that belonged to John Lennon behind you!Simpo Two said:
