Yes, we (ie PHEA www.phea.co.uk) have attended this several times in the past, and whilst the cars are extremely high quality, the price has risen each year and the organisation has got worse. Hence we decided to give it a miss this year and do Duxford instead. But of course you and anyone else can go as individual entrants if you want (assuming the closing date hasn't passed)

I'd check the venue before heading up to Halesworthwink

Helmingham Hall is the one near Ipswich (where the classic car show is)

Heveningham Hall is the one near Halesworth

I went last year (with PH) and had a good day, but it was a queue to get in, and the runs down the drive are a bit tame in most cases.

An enjoyable day, but not a "long journey to get to" kind of day, if that makes sense.

Cheers Chris, didn't spot that !

Sounds like a nice trip, I'll have a word with friends and will probably make my way down there.

Perhaps we can organise a run down there nearer the time?

Where can I find details of the Duxford event? the PHEA.co.uk website doesn't seem to be working?

Just looking at the sites, and the Heveningham Hall day is on Sunday 6th July.

I may stick the C in, but I fancy the concours bit at Helmingham....

We'll see, Duxford is a bit of a hike for the family, as we'd have to take two cars. We'll see.

It's certainly a great thing to do once or twice, so go for it; however like all things after about year three it gets a bit repetitive and I for one am happy to sit back and watch the others go smile But if you haven't been before, you'll have a great day. Just don't expect to win a prize when you've got a Blower Bentley on one side, a gullwing Merc on the other and something that belonged to John Lennon behind you!

I wouldn't expect to win, but it's an excuse to spend a bit of time with the polishing cloths!

(the wife hates me spending hours cleaning the cars)

Also be aware that a Falconeer displays his birds 2/3 times, but don't worry the flight path is well away from the car show, guess you follow my meaning hehe
