VW Polo Match availability?
Discussion
Hi guys,
Girlfriends parents have decided they must have a VW Polo Match 1.4 TDI. Local dealer claims there are none in the country, at all, and they must order one. This will take about 12 weeks.
Is this really the case or does he actually mean 'My dealer group has none in stock'?
I don't suppose anyone knows where one might find an otherwise standard 1.4 TDI Match available new with a lower lead time?
Cheers!

There doesn't appear any are available except a pet engine @ Medway.
Popular engine choice + Match styling.
Probably, best option is to order.

If only I could convince them to get the 1.4 petrol. They must do far less than 10k miles a year but nope, has to be diesel..
They do realise that the diesel will prob cost more to own ie diesel more expensive, higher purchase price, risk of bigger depreciation if the bottom falls out of diesel cars etc[TW]Fox said:

The 75hp 1.4 petrol VW engine is becoming notorious for a short life span. In addition to the ropey management software it's had in many iterations since launch, reports are now suggesting its piston rings will last to around 50k and not much more...The little 3 cylinder diesel is a far better engine. But if they do that little mileage why not get one of the 1.2 petrols? They at least sound interesting, among all their vibrations...

1.4tdi is by far the best of the small VW engines. Our Fabia has the 1.4 16v petrol engine and it's awful in town as there's no power to speak of below 3500rpm. Plus i have a feeling ours has the aformentioned piston ring problem. The little 3 cylinder diesel is a far better engine. But if they do that little mileage why not get one of the 1.2 petrols?
