It's on Youtube for those who wish to see it. I cannot believe the sandtrap there- it doesn't look any longer than the car.

Without doubt quite the most horrifying crash footage I have had the misfortune to witness.

Rest easy Scott.

What a ridiculous way to design a dragstrip. The Americans never fail to amaze me. If you dont stop you smash into the armco(looks like a concret wall to me)?. Poor man and his F.A.F.God rest his soul.

Terrible, terrible thing. Desperatly sad news, love to all the family.

E-town has always had a reputation as one of the shortest run-offs on the tour, as far back as the 1980's (see the Diamond P 'Decade of Thrills 2' tape).

I hope the guy in the Cherry Picker at the end of the track was OK. I am guessing his footage will be central to any investigation.

Scelzi, Capps and Toliver got it about right.

If you'd like to give me the name of the person who held the gun to your head and forced you to watch it, I'll go and sort them out mate.

The boom camera at the top end is controlled by remote. Despite what has been 'reported' on the net, nobody was operating the camera from the basket. It is done via a van out of harms way.

RIP Scott.

Thats some relief, at least. I hadnt seen it mentioned elsewhere, just saw it on the footage.

Sorry, can we please stop the point-scoring and bickering please before it gets unseemly? This is neither the time nor the place.
