Stupid question but did anyone take or accidently take a picture of Tarteflete or the Tarteflete stalls?
I have a friend in switzerland who says not only is it not the national dish of switzerland but that they have never heard of it.
My description that it looks like someone has thrown up in a frying pan didn't really help matters. Please e-mail me a photo.
Many thanks

Take a look here:

http://www.tartiflette.fr/

This is the people who do the Tartiflette at LeMans (or at least they have for previous years, I wasn't there this year.

Just for those who are really interested, the Swiss cross doesn't reach the edges of the flag, while the Savoie cross does. And tartiflette is a bloody good meal to be enjoyed with a good white wine. just my 2p, not much to do today, too hot. biggrin

I've never had that particular cheese, but I do use Raclet if I can't get Reblochon, does it whiff a bit?

just a bit!

I made one on LeMans Saturday with Camambert and Creme Fraiche as I didn't have raclette or cream - actually tasted fine. Was just trying to get as much of the LeMans experience as possible, nearly made some crepes for Grand Marnier too!

Epoisses tastes great despite the smeall. Doesn't come near a mature Munster for smell (or taste) though!
