Time taken for a F1 team to change 4 wheels and tyres: 5s
Time taken for a works rally team to change an engine and gearbox: 20min
Time taken for me to change the rear badge of my T350T: 3hr15 and 2 digits

Don't think I'll be giving up the day job biggrin

(and no, of course I didn't have the right tools...)

Its taken me two weeks so far to track down a blown fuse between the battery and the PAS pump. But on the bright side I have started to develop muscles in my arms.

I took the rear badge off my T350c on Saturday, but took me nearly 4hours just to get the badge off. Just have to wait for the new one to turn up now.

Thanks for the support guys, I'm glad I'm not alone. Anyone want to join me in starting up a new independent servicing centre? We could make an absolute fortune; although customer satisfaction may not be great: "Replacing rear badge - £30 parts, £400 labour". Try telling customers that with a straight face. And by the sound if it, we may have to turn down complicated jobs like replacing a fuse smile

Next week, I'm replacing the wiper blades - but I may have to take a week off work....rolleyes

Er.. two possibilities. The first is that you are a far superior mechanic to me, have the arms of a 6yr old or indeed perhaps even possess the correct tools for the job smile. The second is that there is some "TVR" variation in the position of the rear speaker. I didn't have a flexidrive bit or a 6mm ratchet screwdriver so had to turn my hand through 3 90 degree bends before getting a ring spanner over the nuts that I could then only turn 1/8 a turn at a time, while cutting through my arm at the same rate. Derision from the family that I tied the other end of the spanner to the boot strut with string but at least I didn't completely devalue my car by introducing a spanner into the rear bodywork, to slide around until eternity!! In essence, I'm an idiot rolleyes

As far as i can remember i just removed a few screws under the carpet to remove the leather cover which runs along the width of the boot glass, then there was enough space to squeeze my hand in with a spanner to get the nuts on the rear of the badge 'finger loose'.

Yeah, that might have done it. I couldn't easily identify how to get that panel off and previous threads here had suggested it was accessible through the speaker hole. At the end of the day, so far I've not had to do any REPAIRS to my T350, everything has been IMPROVEMENTS and I''ve had some fun doing it. Long may it continue!!

Mine took ten minutes as well, but I'm sure its because my t350 has the different speaker setup. I have a small tool kit in the centre which you can just take out and reach up to feel the bolts. Easy even for me!

I have also very recently changed my rear badge & plinth - looks so much better now. However, I was annoyed how the sticky backed badge is like about 0.000001mm bigger than the chrome plinth - which meant the badge does not sit dead flat.

It's just me trying to be a perfectionist.
