.....rain on the way home, just been out at Lunch and the bloody windscreen wipers have decided they've had enough of making a passing effort at wiping water off the windscreen and are quite happy just sitting in their parked position 
S'pose the 1st thing to try is the fuse/relay but what with the central locking relay clicking away to itself under the dash top, the battery draining away if you don't use it every couple of days, and a loose conection somewhere in the radio I think it could be time to call upon the services of a TVR friendly Auto-Electrician

Well after having a fiddle about in the fuse box over the weekend I can't seem to get anything to work 
If the relay is shot, will the wipers still work, but just not do the intermitant wipe? Thats the way it reads to me, and as mine are comletely dead, changing the relay is probably pointless, so whats broke, has the wiper motor died if so what are they off and how hard is that going to be to change?

Hello mate, When the fuse was blown on mine the wipers still worked but not on intermittant. And they would not park either. Then they stopped altogether!!. I then replaced the park switch, the fuse stopped blowing but it has gone back to working with no intermittant or park facility!!!!!, Not that much help but maybe it could be your park switch playing up!!!
Do you know if your brake lights are working as this is on the same circuit!

Sorry to hear this Raceboy, the wiper motor is a Lucas unit and sits under the bonnet passenger side below the windscreen. Must be as common as horses
t because my mate looked under the bonnet of mine and declared gleefully that the wiper motor was identical to his TR7
Sounds as though the motor has given up the ghost. There are 3 wires I think, earth, live and live to park. Try hotwiring it to get a reaction from the motor.

Yep, brake lights are fine, but I don't think the washer jets are working so it could be a problem at the switch end, or are they wired through the wiper motor so only work when your wipers are used
when mine died, it gave two quick wipes and stopped ( in the pissing rain late for a mtg!!!!)
the motor is dead easy to change. you have to buy the motor and the drive cable as one item. i got mine from peninsula.
swapping involves removing wiper arms, remove electrical connector, undo motor retaining bracket. undo nut on cable. pick up motor and pull drive cable from the outer that goes to the wiper.
reassembly is the reversal of removal
although i slapped a load of silicon around the electrical connector.
the first thing id check first though is the electrical connector. take it off clean and put back

Take a look at the park switch 1st. That failed on my S, (so I had to time switching thew wipers off quite carefully), then for want of a better way of putting it, failed a bit more and the wipers stopped all togther. Replaced it, and everything is now ok.. (At least until it rains and I need to use the wipers..)
The wiper motors are a little bit more complex as the gearing inside is specific to a particular car or to be more exact the wiper blade arc.
There are also different motor ratings as well. Should be able to replace the motor without disturbing the drive etc by dissembling the gear connection. The cover unscrews. Fiddly but not that bad. Covered in the bible.

Sorry for reviving an old thread, but I have the same problem! After recarpeting and fitting a new battery everything works except the wash/wipe, which is totally dead. I've checked every single fuse and they're all OK. The brake lights work fine.
I can't imagine that the park switch would stop the washer from working - anyone any more ideas? Car's in for an MoT today, so any feedback would be appreciated!
