Titanium hardtail suggestions...
Discussion
Ok.. time for a new build and a titanium hardtail is looking like a good thing to try.
I have looked at Cove, Cotic, Litespeed, Merlin and Seven initially and nothing has me really saying wow. Ok.. cove is leading the pack so far but love to hear from anybody who has a ti frame or anybody have any suggestions for a blinged up single-track bike. Light, fast, 100mm fork and good quality is what I want.
I could buy a complete bike, but I enjoy my projects and getting stuck in with totally custom bikes for myself. Although this has my interest:

but never heard of the manufacturer either..

have a look at www.burls.co.uk
I had a custom Ti frame made and it is very good, plus you get to choose the geometry, tidy welds etc I think there is some pic's here if you scroll down http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&f=174&t=296879&i=700
It's awesome on the trails but the Burls would be XC focused, the Hummer you mention would be a more "aggressive" ti hardtail.
Not only that you get something unique and special.

oooh that looks the business, them Burls frames. Might have to call them I think.
Otherwise the Charge Duster Ti sounds a good compromise as well as long as I can take the decals off.
The Merlin XLM is also looking good as well as a Independent Fabrications.
Decisions, decisions.. I only need a frame and fork as I have the bits at home to build a nice bike (recently buildt an Isaac Impact carbon jobbie, but damn thing is too big for me so thinking of stripping it (size medium but very tall stand over height which I dont like)

Based purely on the Reviews, its gotta be the on-one/lynskey ti?
10/10 by everyone who picks it up.

The On-One was the dream bike for one of the writers in the 20th aniversery MBUK IIRC
Especially since Burls is in Essex, they are fairly close to me, so I think we are on to a winner here me thinks. I am tryng not to be a badgesnob and go with the "safe bet" Litespeed and Merlin... gotta be different, but nice for the stable
