Lower Bonnet bolts sheared off

Jesus, checking oil and was left holidng the lower bonnet.
Took me and my dad all afternoon to drill out the old ones and re-thread.

Anyone else had this happen.

not had the problem but did notice they were rusty +++

replaced mine with stainless steel ones

Same happend to me ! Drill and Tap job ! bd job,its the price we pay for having one of the most beautiful cars on the road

Are these the allen type bolts? Is it worth replacing with SS before they go? Did you need to take the main bonnet off?

Had to drop the low pepper pot spolier and take of the bonnet to get the drill square, its a painful job.

I had a similar experience when I tried to remove the small bonnet. I tried to unscrew to bolts but they broke off like they were made out of butter. I had to drill them out and I replaced them with stainless steel ones.

i had same prob but broke a drill bit when attempting to drill out screw and couldn't get it out-luckily there is enough room to drill a second hole.

Where do people buy there ss screws from-my local trader will only do bags of 50!

What size are the front bonnet screws?
