Hi there, what is the opinion on cheapo batteries such as these:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2x-Batteries-For-Canon-EOS-3...

I'm sure I read somewhere that there was no problem whatsoever but just wanted to check.

Thanks smile

My experience of cheap, non-branded batteries from eBay has been good.

Mine are better than the Canon one that came with the camera.

Three contacts tells me they work some kind of 0-100% 'fuel gauge' (to use Nikon-speak). My experience of such generic batteries (for Nikon D200) is that they can suddenly appear to go flat. They recovered after recharging but it was a nuisance in front of customers and rather worrying when one suddenly failed at a conference.

However that was Nikon so might be completely irrelevant!

I had no probs at all which canon clones, esp as many of them are higher rated. With Nikon's intelligent battery management I've had a few issues with them being reported flat when they weren't, but this was only about 10% of the time. Think they did a poor job of the reverse engineering tbh!

Never had any problems with them. Can get them cheaply from www.7dayshop.com too which offers perhaps a slightly better buying experience than eBay IMHO.

Bought a pack of 2 Canon Batteries from them myself about a year ago for next to nothing comparatively. Still going strong now and do seem to outlast the original Canon battery too.
