A good curry can be found in Tiddington (about 1.5 miles east) at Alladins. Next door is Mr.Chins - a good Chinese. Decent Italian in town at Sorrento in Ely St. The Baraset Barn (about 2.5 miles east) is good so I hear - not been there myself, but it's expensive. Not far from there is the Ferry Inn in Alveston. Thai Boathouse is good - and right on the river (avoid the Thai in town). Another good pub is the Bell Inn at Alderminster.

I've been to the Baraset Barn on a couple of occasions. It is a stylish Gastro pub and usually has some interesting cars in the car park. Food and atmosphere were good. Expect to pay about £30 a head with three courses and a reasoable bottle of plonk. You can just go there for a drink if you want to look it over. You could try the Dun Cow at Pathlow (Just north of Stratford on A3400). It is unassuming from the outside but quite surprising once in side. Food and range of Beers is very good and you can have a good banter with the bar staff. It is cheaper that the Baraset. Also rate the Bell Inn at Alderminster.

Chutney's is a good curry place - outskirts of town just past the racecourse on the Bidford Road. Need to book of a Sat night usually.

Alternatively the Stag Inn on the A46 just west of town (~3-4 miles from the centre, top of the steep hill) is also a nice place - fresh gastropub food and more inventive now than it was a few years back!

Otherwise there's a place just east of Henley in Arden...Crab Mill I think, partner to The Cross at Kenilworth...which I've been recommended as very good (again, book).

The Oppo in Stratford is my favourite. Also another vote for the Thai Boathouse!

Over priced, no atmosphere and mediocre food.

If you want a really good Italian go to Caminettos in Chipping Campden.

Really good pub food try The Red Lion in Hunningham, oh and another vote for The Fox at Loxley, and it's only just down the road from me as well.
