578BHP and over 500 lbs/ft of torque...

When I had the Murci it cost me well into six figures and had less on both counts. Am I missing something here...?!!

I bet the murci was much better to drive and to be seen in.

At the pod there was a tigra that would murder everything on the 1/4 but he still drove home in a tigra....

nope, not missing anything although you could achieve same for less money. thats a bit of a premium price but then its a good example with most if not all the sensible mods already done.

Bang for buck you cant beat it, mines got a little more and a few extra's but Id still rather drive a Lambo, I'm just not willing to sacrifise so much of my disposable income for the pleasure since the Ro does so much for relatively little cost really.

FWIW, I drove a new Aston Martin V8 Vantage the other week, a very nice car and finished beautifully, but I came away feeling disappointed with it - it just didn't have the same feeling of grunt as the Monaro and lacked 'soul'. And don't get me started about the fcensoredg 'flappy paddle gearbox'.
I'd probably have one, but I'd keep the Monaro for when I felt the need to drive something with 'balls'.

At v max recently I matched a V12 lambo and destroyed a new aston. All this on a very hot day. Lambo is nice but I could not use it every day, id worry to much about it with so much money invested. Mind U if U get one Jamie take us for a spin! cool

The plan was to think about getting a 2+2 (I have a GI Jane & a Little GI) next year, and the short list is a VXR, DB9 and 612. Having been lucky enough to have done the Suparcar thing, my wallet's saying Monaro...

Having grown up on a staple diet of TVRs, I found the 355 & 360 lacking. The Murci totally blow my mind, but in what I lost in depreciation selling it, I could've had two VXRs sat on my driveway!

Anybody have any views on resale/residuals in 12-24 months?

Thanks
Tuan

74TC actually, he's been MIA for the past year though.

I remembered the thread as I accidentally hijacked it when I bumped into a mate of my brother on it redfaceops:

Yea im in two minds about spending that sort of money.

Im just a builder and im not made of money but i can afford it and im thinking you only live once so why not get one for a year or 2 and then get another Monaro later.

Its that or build up another hi spec Supra from scratch.

If get one i will take you for a spin no probssmile

Found the Lambo uninspiring espscially against a well loaded VXR.

Now a 430 Scuderia....well ....yes please.
