How the hell do you get reasonable contract rates from couriers in an online start up situation?

Initial low volumes really take a hit, which is a pain for low margin products.

Be generous with your predicted yearly volumes and play the couriers off against each other as best you can. Unfortunately i'm not sure about the best companies for low volumes, but there are lots of suppliers out there and it's very competitive. Depends what kind of service you want too.

Sorry i can't be of more help.

Just use a PAYG broker such as fast lane until you can negotiate a discount.

I use www.parcel-machine.co.uk the discount seems quite good although it's a pretty naff site!

I use DHL through them & always been happy.

(I wonder how one sets up an online whitelabel delivery brokerage, anyone know?)

Use one of the smaller franchises. We have been using a courier who is part of APC and they have been brill. (we have used them for 8yrs).

ANC are cheap but their service reflects it.
