I have a Peugeot 206, and my handbrake is broken. Are there any tests i can do or check is i can make myself without taking the car into a garage??

handbrake up, stick it in 1st gear and let the clutch up - if the car moves then it's fooked

TBH changing and adjusting the cable is a 2 spanner haynes manual rating
