Just compiling a short(ish) list of spares to take to the Alps in July.

Currently...

- Spare set of wheels
- tyres
- inner tubes
- Disc rotors
- Disc pads
- Couple of mechs
- Dropout
- Spare bar/stem/grips/saddle/pedals

Then a full set of tools and cables etc.

Anything else worth taking?

A spare chain and a handful of powerlinks?

Sods law whatever you don't take, you'll need, so recce the area ASAP upon arrival for a bike shop!

depends where you're going but there are some very good bike shops in the Alps, so not sure if you need to take all of that as you can probably buy the list once you're here.

Correct.

I had that issue - I broke several SRAM powerlinks and ran out frown

The shops are rather expensive come Mega time - funny thatwink

Spare mech hanger or some way of straightening the one you've got, if the worst happens.

Sunglasses not goggles - goggles are too hot for that duration.

Spare bearings if you use Crank Bros pedals.

what bikes are you guys riding for qualifier & race?
THis is my first Mega but going along with a few people who've been before and bikes are Cube Stereo and a 06 Specialized enduro with me on a 5inch travel Foes. All bikes have been Alpine'ized with big tyres, short stems and double ring chain guides

The Only thing that isn't mentioned on that list that might be hard to get hold of is a new rear mech hanger.

an absolute must.

Faily similar list to us, I think we're pretty much taking a spare bike in parts. But then we're out there for 3 weeks so there is bound to be a lot of casualties!

No point in paying a fortune for parts out there when you have everything already.

We're driving out so space isn't really an issue, we can take as much as we can get in the car!

Just over 3 weeks to go now. Starting to look forward to it!
