Firstly, a big thank you to Mr Freefall.clap
Both I and my son were so impressed with his attention to detail and knowledge about the car. I am sure that at some time, I would be so stuck without some of the information he passed on bow

First relief;
After Chatsworth, my partner had set her heart on a Black/Dark Grey car.
However, she was staying at a girlfriends this weekend, when I went to see the car, and I just loved the colour combination of Mr Freefalls. So, agreed sale there and then. Picked up Partner from aformentioned friend last night on the way back, which did make for a great long first outing, and she loves it!

First impressions;
Amazed at the 'tractability' of the car. Pulls so hard right from low revs.
I also have a 4.0 Chimaera, and was not expecting the non stop torque that it has, but was suprised. Although not as smooth and silky as the Chimaera, it has no sudden power surge, but does really start to pull hard just before 4k, and then just keeps pulling really hard. M 40 had some nice clear patches on the way back, and well into 3 figures, I could tell I was only just starting to get a taste of Cerbera performance. It is certainley a harder car to drive than the Chimaera, requiring 101% concentration when 'pushing on'. I felt quite knackered after the 2 hr drive back. So 10/10 for Paul at Austec for such great mapping of the engine. No doubt I will be seeing him soon

The noise;
My son followed me part way back. He reported - flames, Yellow and Blue biglaugh, and in the tunnel on the M25 under Hatfield he said the noise was deafening, ( I did drop down a cog or to)evil
My partner wondered what was making all the popping and banging noise. I did offer some simplistic explanation about Cat removal. Her reply was, can we put them back in to stop the noise then. NO, can't be done was my immediate response!!

After picking up partner from her friends house, it was a very sedate drive back of about 45mins. (3 years ago she was in a bad and traumatic car accident, and is a VERY nervous passenger, only now just being able to drive again) But V8 CBY was happy to trickle along within in the speed limits, well sort of, and she is so pleased with the look of the car inside and out.

So, thats my first day with V8 CBY. Son coming round tonight for a trip out, and I hope to pick up my 9 year old daughter from school on Friday. She will have such a suprise, (she lives with her mum)

I will add anything that might be of interest as and when, but for know, just cant wait to drive it some more, and again big thanks to Mr F. She WILL be cherished and kept in the manner to which she has become acustomed

Once you get used to it that should go. Takes a good few months though. I'm still learning (I'm a bit slow).

It used to be said that Carroll Shelby liked to stick a $100 dollar bill to the inside of the windscreen and challenge the potential customer, sitting in the passenger seat, to claim the bill while the car demonstrated its full acceleration. Few managed to claim the $100 but many placed an order - once they got their breath back!

I tried this once with a fiver and didn't lose my money biggrin

Nicky

Just delved into Kimbolton, and there seems to be some dubiety over entrance for clubs / classics. Classics need to be over 20 years old and clubs limited in number.

If you know any more be glad to hear.

wavey I thought it was a free for all - I know we sometimes get our tickets in advance, but never heard of restrictions on age of cars or limited numbers - they have acres of space.

However, I will find out and post back on here. Think you should plan to come regardless tongue out

You must be thinking of some nerdy classic show not Kimbolton, that's a relaxed freindly show

NO AGE RESTRICTIONS ON CARS DISPLAYING AT KIMBOLTON

Clubs would have been dealt with by now but get there before 11.00 am and it's £5 per display car (monies to children's charities) or £6 per adult, £16 per family after 11.00 am

Did a search on Kimbolton yesterday and thanks to having some proper work to do for once, did not read the thread properly. It was some hay-tossing chenanigans in Norfolk that got mixed into dufus of a brain.
