Only just noticed today that my 92' Griff doesnt have any ashtrays on the doors.... Surely they werent an optional extra were they? The car is totally original and unmodified btw.
Did have a look through the classifieds on here and saw only 1 other Griff with none.

Mine doesn't have any either and I believe that's because it was fitted with the 'no smoking option'
so NOT having ashtrays was an option IIRC.

I have them in mine and I damned well hate them.
Do you think our cars would look odd if we swapped door cards Clive ? silly

I always found it amusing that Clive the chimney doesn't have ashtrays in his Griff... hehe

Saying that, if mine didn't have them, then where would I keep all the spare nuts & bolts from the dash? wink

My Griff didn't have ashtrays either. More frustratingly, it didn't have a lighter socket either. Which seemed a bit daft, really. smile

That must be quite unusual.I know that Lord Grovers has a lighter in each door, which is the only one i've seen like that.

Aha! He must've had mine, then. hehe There was definitely no lighter in mine. I recall spending ages with it one afternoon, looking in every possible location for it! But no - definitely not there.

When there is no ashtray ,how does the door card retain?
There is a screw behind the ashtray normally.

Fair enough, so we need some ashtray shaped tweeters for the stereo..

Got them, but as we don't smoke they are used as coin holders for toll booth's.

I can't get my hands in my pockets without opening the door. (No comments please)

Last year I suggested to Leven that they should make something that fits in the hole and does the coin dispenser job better. The £1 coin can slip down and gets stuck.

Would there be a market for something to fit in there and what accessory would be most popular?
