V8 UCA an Update for those that are interested!

More weeks have gone by since I last update the progress on my Can Am 'V8 UCA',
It does not seem possible that it was only 7 weeks ago that my kit arrived, time sure does fly when you are enjoying your self!

One question to those in the know, The instructions for my Sat Nav system talks about getting the Pulse Speed Sensor as close as possible to one of the front wheels, the tyre of which will need to be magnetised? HOW does one magnetise RUBBER? or am I missing something?

Yo David I think I noticed in one of your photos that you have installed a cd autochanger behind the drivers seat ? and that it is fitted verticle to the panel I did this, and it used to skip when I was driving, most annoying, it needs to be fitted at an angle, the bottom needs to come out about 20-25 mm, hope this helps

Are you going to insulate the part of the radiator pipes that run under the speakers, they might get a wee bit hot??
Where are you planning to run your heater hoses, through the containers or under them?
Martin (Davriman) and I bought from Vintage Air a servo controlled heater valve to replace the manual 'choke' push/pull thinggy.
I went for a hard disc system as I thought a cd changer it would skip a lot.

Hi David, my system (which is not Pioneer) allowed me to use the speed sensor used for the factory speedo, so I literally got a feed off the loom from that. IIRC, the instructions for my pulse generator (which because of the above I found I didn't need) said to use the supplied magnetic wand and go around half the circumference of the tyre, thereby magnetisinfg the wheel and acting as the basis for the pulse.

It's all looking very good !!

I am no expert, but I notice that you appear to have attached the copper sensor wire to the lower AC pipe, whereas a thread on here a short while ago suggested that better performance could be had from the AC system by attaching the copper wire to the UPPER AC pipe (which is what I have done)

Just an observation, in case you maybe hadn't seen that thread.
