Looking to buy a chimaera looked at some at Philip Phedonos - who acording to posts here comes highly recommended. What about Tony Gilbert? Any other good dealers around SE and Mids.
I'm looking to spend between 10-12k and the later the plate the better. Happy to go for the 4L. But how does the 4.5 5l differ is it only in power and speed ...
Thanks.

Why do you particularly want to buy from a dealer, there are always many cared for examples at private sale

I prefer to have a warranty!!! But yes if i can find a good car privately and have it inspected then fine.

Plenty in the classifieds, including mine, i'm up in Blackpool but personally i'd say its worth traveling to view, after all, i bought it from Essex!

Up to the facelifted cars the 450/500's generally got better brakes, chassis and suspension, but post facelift cars generally have all this the same.

Thanks

Warranty is fine, but it is only as good as the person/dept that passes the claim, any car you buy is past manufacturing failure and into "fair wear and tear" I would rather have a good, well priced car than a average car at top price with a micky mouse third party warranty, just a thought

You can buy a private warranty as well though? NOt sure how much they cost, but you can buy them yourself.

apart from the odd exception the lastest cars in any volume are 2001, seven years old, if a componant hasnt failed yet, when it does, it will not be covered. most new cars are 3 years or 60,000 miles, even then some warranty is rejected, why waste you money
