Simple question really, do you need physical access to the server to install and run it? As my server is in the USA and I only access it remotely.

Just thinking about backup ideas for the league.

I think it depends on the server and how its set up.

When I was running a counterstrike server it has a program called SSH installed which let me move files around and reboot the server remotely.

I can't imagine any game server requiring physical contact.
Any that I have run or been admin for have always been remote access. smile

What's the latency on the connection to the US server? I would have thought that it would be too laggy.

Not really. The only reason we had issues before was because of the Group Policy on the server meant it occasionally rebooted itself.

Obviously some chump turning it off will scupper things, but I'm sure that can be worked around?

I could test it then and seen what the rates are.

Can anyone give me an idiots guide of what to upload, install and run. Never done this before so need a step-by-step guide.

Thanks smile

How are you getting remote access? Is it a Windows or Linux server?
