hi alex,
i believe this is a 350i going by the back but the front is 390/400
the dash is the same as my 350i
i think its a bit suspect they havent listed what model it is
at that price it's definately not a 400 and if it was a 400 why is it that cheap!

It's registered as an August 1998 350i.

It was for sale on here last year. General consensus was that it was a bit of a mixture of all the models but looked a good buy. I certainly would, as long as it was straight, especially at that price. eek

It's crying out for a 4.6......

Your right Wyn, remember seeing it on Pheads classified previously.
PS. think I saw your old 450 at Lemons a few weeks ago - Looked like it was sporting a new bonnet scoop?

Spotted by a mate of mine in Exeter a few weeks ago and he said it was a 390SE. Also said it looked very tidy. But he might have been comparing it to mine, in which case that wouldn't be difficult.

I'd be asking why he's selling it so soon after buying it. Before buying my Chim I did think about going to have a look at this and that was only about xmas time. Still, looks like a v. nice wedge smile

If you look inside the wheel arch you will notice overspray - this tells me the car is probably 350i that has had a recent bout of bodywork with a clumsy dose of paint. Another giveaway are the screen pillars which are narrower than the SE cars.

If I were looking to buy, I would ask the seller what the bodywork history was, definitely do an HPi and get the chassis fully inspected in case had been bent or snapped.

The engine is unlikely to be original if its a 3.9. My hunch would be to walk away if any of the above is suspect.

Because he's a (part-time) dealer.

I bought back my 400SE from him a couple of months ago...but of course I knew what I was buying.wink

Small world isn't it.

Looks a nice car TBH. Those wheels are the Tuscan racer wheels, very rare & worth a few quid by themselves. Was for Sale here for £3750 couple of weeks ago. yes
