looking for the fuel filter location now logic dictates that it should be just behind the fuel pump and in front of the tank.On checking mine the pump input goes direct into the boot compartment and I assume tank Or has as I suspect some dastardly service centre ommitted it when they replaced the pipe from the tank to the pump.

Thank the lord that I am able to service things myself otherwise I would be in the hands of car service agents introducing more faults than they solve, (rant over) they are not all bad....but because they are always in a rush short cutting seems to be the order of the day.

Any sort of guidance as to wear my missing filter might be is appreciated

the fuel filter is located AFTER the pump, look up to your left when looking at the pump and you will just see it bolted on the inside face of the chassis , just forward of the front of the differential.
there isn`t much room for the filter before the pump, the pipe you described goes through the bodywork straight into the bottom of the fuell tank.

thanks clive quick thread closure, not that easy to see crawling on your back , I will jack her up again and look in front of the pump, general rule of thumb is its usually located before the pump because it is unpressurised and also protects the pump from fragments , but if thats the way they do it.
