Let's see some Silverstone testings pics. Seemingly everybody had an enormous telephoto, so hopefully some PHers were there!
I took hundreds, but my favourite is this one, a bit long range but very satisfying!

Hamilton was AWESOME!

His driving! To be more precise, his ability to come into the Luffield complex under the bridge without lifting, four wheel power sliding out of the complex, the way he snapped the back end in when it got loose. It was fabulous.

Love the first one Civicman - timing was spot to get get the car in the foreground.

Here's some I took from the Tuesday. I've only managed to process 95 of 460 images from the day, so far. It was only my 2nd attempt at F1 so i'm pleased with my efforts

Some great shots there too, Marc.

Cheers
Scott

This was my first ever silverstone and F1 experience. I never got it before. I get it now. I thought the Ferrari and McLaren both looked and sounded significantly faster than the rest of the field. Surprised to see the Toyota faster than the Ferrari.
My ears are still ringing. Awesome. I'll definately need to get to a race now...

You notice it a lot when you're photographing them. I was panning quite comfortably with the Force India and Red Bull cars, but when I'd pan with the McLaren and ferrari all I got for a while were their back wheels biggrin You notice how much later the good drivers brake into the bends, too.

I've only ever been to testing twice, never a race. I can only imagine the noise of all the cars at once. Can't wait!!

I took loads of pics too - but I haven't even had chance to view them on the PC yet, much less convert them and post them up! Sorry. I'll try and post a few this weekend. smile

We had a fantastic time at the Silverstone Test.

I'm trying to upload a small mp4 vid. Does this work?
http://tinypic.com/player.php?v=2l8w6me&s=3

Meantime:

We were told kubica went off here (though I think it must have been Heidfeld).

But instead of just driving along the tarmac and rejoining the track here:

He decided to go back across the gravel instead. And got stuck. hehe

(If you zoom in you can see all the footprints from the marshals who got him out) If Hamilton had done that the bulletin boards would have collapsed!

a lot of the cars had extra appendages. I guess to provide more/quicker data back to the pits than which is normally allowed?

Took a lot of photos on Thursday. Narrowed down about 500 to 190. And now working out why I need to keep 37 of Kimi, all from a slightly different angle biggrin

Really good day. First time I'd seen an F1 car at full chat. (Goodwood hill climb doesn't count). I loved the noise. Decided I'm going to stump up next year and buy some GP tickets.

'Fraid not, I have a pal at Renault.

I can say though that Lewis was well on it. I was surprised at how many mistakes were being made by the drivers, I guess that they are trying out different things and different lines in the corners etc, but lewis looked really on it. It wasn't a surprise to see he was quickest.

I just sincerely hope that it all transfers to the race next weekend!
