Does anyone know of a really good bodyshop that can deal with S2000's in SW London or Surrey? Some utter t****r has reverse a truck over the front of my car whilst it was parked.
Thames Ditton Honda have quoted £1000 to repair it, but I'm not that keen on wrecking my no claims bonus (beside there is a £350 excess to pay)

They've always been fabulously cheap for servicing, but I wondered if the bodyshop was outsourced as they don't have one on site and if I could get the work done cheaper (and just as well) elsewhere

Thanks

A company called Autotechnics is very good. They are not in the area you mention but worth the travel imo. They are based in Bray and are honda approved. They do some of the local Ferrari dealer(Maranello) work. Also have prepped the Honda Motorshow cars in the past.

Fairly expensive but the work is top notch.

You can try TGM sports in Fleet, they may be able to help. Speak to Will Gannon.

Best send some photos to them via there email if the car is undriveable.

Thanks guys, fortunately Honda have confirmed there is nothing damaged other than the bodywork, so should be able to drive to get it fixed, I'll have a owrd with the people you recommended.

Why would it affect your no claims? you should be able to get the excess back from the 3rd party too.

I would imagine the offending idiot didn't hang around and leave his details, from the tone of the OP's post.

With a £350 excess, if it's around a grand or less, I wouldn't risk your NCB, even if protected, as your premiums over the next 3 years would probably be higher to the tune of £700 across 3 years.

Yes, that's what I was thinking, it's not quite enough of a mess to actually make the claim - so annoying.

And you are also right, the driver didn't think to leave a note strangely!

mine was hit 10 days ago by an immigrant in a clapped out nissan micra (not that it makes a difference who hit it but not sure if they're insured yet and still pissed )I've got it in a bodyshop near kingston at the mo, should get it back tomorrow - well priced but will post back once i've seen the quality of the work (with their details if they're any good) being insurance approved as they are,it could be luck of the draw...they seem to know what they're talking aboutand have done several s2k's

i don't think they know enough about the s2's to have prices to hand, i finally picked mine up yesterday (there was a delay with the wheels) they've done a good job on it, i can't notice any difference from pre-smash!! hope they come up with a good price for you...

Well, I got the quote through the post this morning and they are almost exactly the same as Honda - so no point going to them really, and either shows that honda are very competitive with their pricing, or they outsource it all to those guys!!
Either way I'll just go and get it done at Thames Ditton Honda, as I know they'll do a top job

ouch... sounds painful... i guess they probably have arrangements with most of the garages in the area as well as insurance companies etc... still - you would have thought you'd get a saving going direct to the body shop. Good luck getting it sorted out
