Both cars here have had a hard wired Talex behind the rear view mirror for a couple of years. Excellent devices, wouldn't be without. The hardwired bit means Mrs DH can not claim to have forgotten to switch it on.
Recent camera a few miles down the road (on a wide open stretch reduced from the logical 40 to a ridculous 30) has prompted many neighbours to ask me to fit the same device for them.
Talex aren't really around any more but the devices are still available for less than 50 quid from digiuk dot com however reason for this post is to mention the updates to those not aware. There is a link on the Digiuk site to the Novus update and it works great. It's not just the new locations that's worthwhile having but a fair few have been removed (yippee) which avoids "false positives"
