Check the inertia switch behind the glove box hasn't tripped.

The spring can get weak with age and trip for no apparent reason. I ended up having to replace mine.

have you tried swapping the relays, I`ve read on here before about relays going and you can swap them over to see if thats the fault.

I had exactly the same symptoms and it was the relay. Like it ran out of petrol. The relays can found in the footwell wiring loom. There are two identical ones. One is fuel pump the other is the injectors. In my case swapping them over didn't seem help diagnose the problem. They seem to be wired in series and both needed to work for the fuel pump to prime. Whatever, a new relay fixed the problem.

In my case I damaged the relay by trying to prize it out wih a screwdriver. I think I shorted a terminal destroying the built in diode. silly I was a bit surprised as I had turned the ignition was off.

Check the imobiliser to, my Chimaera had this problem and had to get the whole (foxguard) unit rebuilt in the end, only cost £45 though, just a pain.

Took the car to Offords for them to check it out. They diagnosed faulty fuel pump & relays. Collected on Friday drove home put away in the garage,
This Morning trys to start car & it has exactly the same fault, when I switch on the pump does not prime & car will not start Doh. rage

Try locking / unlocking the car a few times and restarting, I still suspect the immobiliser could be the issue. Do you know if the original is still fitted or has it been upgraded?

That's poor, and unusual for Dulford. I'd be tempted to speak to Richard - when I had an issue 'post service' I took it back several weeks later and they resolved it FOC.

Offords not Dulford - I'd share your surprise otherwise.

Sounds like immobiliser on the way out - speak to Carl Baker - he's the man.
Try disconnecting the battery for 30 seconds first to reset the system. Probably won't work but its a quick no cost effort.

Hi I believe Its the original Gemini electronic immobiliser as fitted in 1992. Its been working fine with no problems. You can hear the fuel pump thud but no ticking on start up.
Somehow Ive got to get it back to offords for them to have a look!furious

Maybe worth calling either or both of these to see what they say or have any 'tricks' you could try: http://www.tvruk.tv/dyncat.cfm?catid=7 or http://www.bridgwater-electronics.co.uk/p_53_TVR.p...
Good luck.

Have you asked them to check the immobiliser yet?, the immobiliser circuit breaks the supply to the fuel pump so the car cannot be started, It's a fairly common fault I was told so would be worth a look.

IIRC it's possible to eliminate the immobiliser by sticking a 12V test supply directly on the fuel pump.

Simple test, multimeter across the fuel pump terminals.
