I have decided to share my listing of UK watchmakers that I have experience of, or have been recommended to me by various outlets selling pre-owned and mainly vintage watches etc.
This is not meant to be a definitive list, but is aimed at Omega, Rolex, Zenith and Breitling mainly, and I make no recommendations myself.

3, D Offord (Newton Abbott, Omega) 01626364766

OK, I didn't read the website for Time Repairs (Bury, Lancashire) as i'd heard good things about them elsewhere so i made the mistake of going into Lepps on Saturday with my Seamaster Pro expecting to be told £70 for a service. They said they couldn't quote till Monday as they would have to speak to the repairer which i thought was reasonable.

It only dawned on me today having read the Time Repairs website blurb that Lepp's would mark up their price from the Time Repairs website quoting me £150 on the phone today justifying to me it was £20 cheaper than sending to Omega! I went on the web again got the telephone number and checked the online figure of £70 again and spoke to time Reapirs directly.

The guy said he couldn't collect the watch from downstairs at Lepps due to an agreement he had with them but if i collected it and sent it to him it would be OK but the price would be £120. Given this was £50 more than his online advertised price of £70 i couldn't be bothered arguing or questioning the quote (he had seen my watch already that day so he knew exactly what model and condition it was) so i'll be looking elsewhere.

Only my experience of advertised quotes, etc....

Now looking for a aftermarket Omega servicer who offers a service for a reasonable charge.

There is another hand made product that is frequently seen on this site or timezone UK (if you can actually get on it) but I cant recall the site, it may be "Toshi" or similar, and also a French Paris based hand made products also seen on this site and timezone.
Perhaps someone else can provide this info.
