Oil Cooling

Having had a 'warm' oil incident recently, I've decided to go with dry sumping the car to get more oil in the system as a whole. What I was wondering is does anyone on high power engines increase the size of the oil cooler in the N/S pod or fit a puller fan like the aircon to keep temps down???

Define 'Warm oil'. Also type, make and grade of oil.

Many are scared of the oil being hot but with a quality oil, and in particular synthetic, the engine will actually benefit from the oil being hot.
Famous Chevy engine builders say the oil temp should be higher than the water temperature but my engine won't do it so I suspect my oil cooler is actually working better than I would like.

The Factory Dry Sump kit comes with a wider oil cooler. It is the same height and length (so it fitted with the old bracketry), just wider with different gauge connectors too.

Mine is running on dry sump system since it was built. Stock oil cooler but a fan was added due to high oil temp in summer (135º-140º) on track. (MOTUL V300 15W40 synth).
But.......I live in Spain not UK.

For the oil to do its job properly under high stress it needs to be around 100 degrees.

A themostat on the oil feed to the cooler is a good idea.

A thermostat is a good idea as the oil can struggle to get upto temp with light road use. Especially in the cooler months. I'm fitting one along with a remote filter mount to make oil changes a little easier
