Tom Tom....difference between versions?

I'm looking for a new Sat Nav with Europe and possibly Traffic too. The Tom Tom XL Europe Traffic can be had for £199 in Comet, or as low as £185 if you shop around online. Now I presume that this is a Version 1....so my question is, what are the main differences between a V1 and the V2, V3, etc? Is it the maps version, the technology inside, the available features, or a bit of everything?

I don't want to spend any more than £200, so is it worth going for the XL V1, or would I be better off with a later version Tom Tom ONE?
