Mr Chris, I do believe this car is an S1 (2.8 and F Reg).

I think its brilliant and its similar to what I have in mind, other than I intend to insert stainless steel strips where the rubber bumpers were but they will be fush with the body, not protruding.I think it is a major improvement on the original, but I'm sure others will see it differently depending on their tastes.

Interesting! Yes it does certainly appear to have been incorrectly described, it has to be an S1. Also slightly amused by it being described as a 'fling' machine, presumably they meant 'flying' but perhaps the mods are as a result of a minor shunt?!
Do I like it? I am not offended by it but I have decided I prefer the original. It does however look surprisingly 'modern' and just shows what a superb shape the basic body design is, and how well a simple smooth design has 'aged'. The guy who first drew this design was having a very good day! Judging by the comments I have had, including from MX5 owners, I wouldn't be surprised if the same basic design (perhaps with a 1.8-2litre BMW engine, now there is a nice thought!)wouldnt sell today.

I really like it, as someone says it modernises without being tacky. Don't like th wheels though, but teh bodywork looks great. Reminds me of the red S with the corvette style rear lights which takes the effect one stage further and looks very very good anyone got any pics of that?

As a regular ebayer I thought I would just tip off the seller that it was an S1 not an S3 (advertising descriptions and all that!) I was surprised to get the following reply: 'does it matter its bloody cheap!' Hmmmmm
