Does anybody know where I can get the plastic/nylon ends for the bonnet latch? The part that locates into the holes in the metal plate that protrudes from the bonnet.

If I can't find some I will have to make one as one of mine is almost worn through.

Make sure you have the rubber gromet in the metal locating plate on the wing as this helps to stop vibrations and damage to the pin, I believe (someone correct me) that you can use a 14mm electrical grommet from the likes of B&Q

The catch can be purchased from racing green as I need to get one for mine as it has totally snapped, although turning up an aluminium one might be on the cards.

When replacing the pin dont set it to tight when the bonnet lock is put on as the compression of the plastic pin between the rod and wing latch will leed to premature failing. Removing the pannel under the window will allow you to adjust the pin on the rod with the bonnet closed as you can see what your doing.

Thanks guys. All the info I needed and some advice.

Don't you just love Pistonheads forums. They make owning cars like this soooo much easier.

Leven do rather nice turned aluminium ones. I had to ring and ask as they weren't on their website at the time.

Ordered plastic ones from Racing Green at £5.88 each.

Pi**ed off that the postage and packaging was £5.95 though as with VAT this makes it almost £7 to post 2 little bits of plastic.

Rip off are the words that spring to mind.

If all the bills I have to pay for during my Cerb ownership are that cheap I will be well chuffed tongue out

But is is a bit steep on the old postage as you say

I have just fitted these from the TVR shop into the gromment I got from TVR shop a while ago.

The two don't match up very well to be honest.

The hole in the grommet is much bigger than the pins.

Ah well good old TVR design I suspect?

I had to adjust the guide plates considerably to get a decent fititng.
But it still not a very good design is it!

Anybody fitted racing locking pins? How does it look?
