Have 2 sets of wheels for the 3000m 6x15 front, 7x15 rears.
I intend to fit one set of wheels with slicks, the other wets.
My perdicament is spares. Are slicks uni-directional and should I just carry a spare front/rear wheel and slick or...?
Advice appreciated, already spending the 2011 budget, so cost is a bit of a consideration.

an unused slick will go either way, once used they will grain up in the direction of travel,so for ultimate performance you'd want to keep them going in the same direction, but if fund limited one spare with a usable slick on it can be used on either side.
Cheers Graham,So one unused front and one unused rear should do me I think!
you may want to get Dunlop SP9000 road tyres as your wets, as wet wets will only work if its very wet, and will be destroyed if the track dries.
Also then if you do have one of the slick's fail you could allways run the SP9000. this way your wets would also be your spare's
not ideal but will be a lot cheaper.
It's what I', going to be doing. esp as gone over budget on the build.

I've driven my Sagaris on SP9000s in the wet and I would avoid them like the plague!
My budget is in tact, the only problem is its the 2011 budget.
If I can save some money I will, but I still haven priced tyres yet, and I think I'll be running with less rubber than anyone else on the grid so maybe not horrific overall cost! My real problem (and its an asthetic problem) is I would need two more wheels to match what I have and they are like hen's teeth. (3 piece Compomotive FH split rims if anyone has two going spare)
