Performance Torque
Discussion
like much of the replies recently i dont think the remap matters as much as looking out or preparing for some of the items which will fail. one omitted from that list was the long life service programme, it helped put an early end to my turbo, the feeder hoses were very clogged, remapping i would go for more frequent oil changes which i was but my mistake was not to flush. its a small cheap one but a worthy note! even if you just do the oil feeder hoses for new.
One thing i would ask is how the power is delivered, some folk just max everything out, mid range is always where the big improvements are made and end bhp increase isnt as important as the torque increases across the range. but make sure its not a brutal spool up, the dualmass flywheels arent cheap...
i have seen replies from performance towrque on another forum which seem to be well written and knowledgeable, but i have no experience of them first hand.
Which variant 1.8T did you buy, and moreso did ditch the s2?

Ive actually since been in touch with AMD and they will be doing it later in the month... the car in question is actually a 2001 Seat 1.8 20v turbo Alhambra (the wifes obviously) I just feel it needs some more umph mid range (as i sometimes have to drive it) which the extra 50+ lbft of torque and hp with the AMD map will give it...
