Thinking of starting a fashion boutique hoping to get some major brands( diesel, firetrap, lcaoste etc) on board. Nothing similar in my area and have no real experience in the industry just always been keen on fashion and have quite a keen eye for what is fashionable and whats not ha! anyway just looking for some pointers on how i would go about buying in these brands, is there a certain revenue level you have to reach before they allow you to sell their gear and what sort of margins am i looking at for a typical polo shirt, jean etc? any help would be much appreciated
I did a simple website for these guys... they seem to be doing the same thing you're thinking about.

A lot of people have this vision, its probably as popular as opening a restaurant. Both are recipes for disaster unless you have done your homework to the nth degree.
Even if you have, you won't really see any returns for a few years, so don't go expecting much of a salary.
At the moment retail is at a low, and likely to get lower. this might present opportunity in maybe 12 months as rents and fitting might see a drop. You need to pick the right timeto ride the start of the wave. Keep a close eye on reports from the big boys, m&s, next etc as they will be better informed as to when the wave is most likely to start.
I live in Henley, where I have a clothes shop. Its flat at the moment and staff have to work hard for every sale.
Two more henley clothes shops are closing this week, so if u are in the area, the field and auverne might have some deals.
That said, not good for the town, but can be offset by fuel price rises and people shopping locally.
Anyhow, if u want some scpecific questions answering PM me
cheers
