Polishing is a no-no. It reduces fuel/air atomisation by presenting a smooth surface for it all to stick to... like a mirror in your bathroom.

Power will no this of course.

Interested in the lightened flywheel. I always thought the flywheel in my 4.5 was made from cardboard, such was the general lack of inertia in the engine. Mate remarked, upon my blipping the accelerator, that the engine revved like a bike engine.

I miss the Cerb. frown

Are you going to use 4.5 throttle bodies?

I always thought polishing the chamber was the way to go, reduces the chances of pre-detonation. There are different thoughts on the porting of the intake runners, keeping it rough is suppose to help with turbulence aiding mixture, but too much turbulence creates inefficiencies when filling the chamber.

Lightened flywheel?

Bl••dy hell, there's not a lot of inertia in the standard one.

Last I heard they'd started taking bits off of it for other Cerbs... so im guessing not quite as well as hoped. hehe

Although good god does his 4.5 look like a bargain in the classifieds. Someones going to get a nice car there, im guessing that the recent price reduction may hint at a return for the mighty blue machine to make a re-appearance to the streets of brum??

I should have read the OP properly... NOT polishing the inlets is a good idea. Having the head all nice and shiny isn't a bad idea though.

laugh

They nicked the new alternator off it & stuck it on my 4.5.

I've spent that much time & money with them, that we've turned in to mates smile..... So I guess the normal customers get in first.

Spoke to Dom today, should be back soon.

I became a single man again this week biggrin: so I'm in the spare room at my dad's..... Bit dodgy round here so I've left the car back at the house.

I'll have to find myself somewhere to rent for a bit smile

I'm thinking of becoming a lesbian . I can't help noticing that the pretty one's always seem to go out with a somewhat gruesome looking butch one
I'm never going to be a good looking bloke, but I reckon I'd make one hell of an ugly bird smile
ah that makes sense lol!

well if you see a cherry red cerb up there give it a little pat from mewink

A bit of mascara and some flatter shoes, hang around in Brighton... scratchchin give it a try, it works for Fubes... smile

Congratulations on the single status btw, what was the coup de grace, did you tell her the other one needed a rebuild too?
