Bonnet release/ boot release

Help!
The bonnet release on my S1 now does not...release the bonnet!
There is a little bit of movement, but not enough to fully release the catch.
As only an S1 can on the same day the boot release decided to compensate for this and is now releasing on the drive to work! (And the way home)
Anyone got any quick fixes?

Sorry, don't know of a quick fit for the bonnet, but I can recommend Halfraud's "Shock and Unlock" for rusted/jammed boot cables. It apparently works by freezing. Got my boot cable free after two goes, despite (or maybe because) waiting a couple of days for WD40 to work.
Problem with the bonnet release is getting access to it, as no doubt, you know!

By bonnet, you mean service compartment? Waggle it from side to side and forward and backward and up and down whilst someone else tries to release it. Hopefully that'll get it open. Once its open give everything a good greasing to stop it happening again.
Same applies to the boot, it sounds like your catch isn't fully engaging. Again, give both ends of the cable and the latch a good greasing. Also worth chcecking everything is properly aligned while you're there.

As Gad Westy says, Sometimes the Front Access cover isn't quite lined up with the catch, so doesn't release easily. You may need to slacken off the catch mechanism once the cover is open to align it up properly. A mate of mine had a similar problem on his S1, spent ages trying to prise open the cover, I just gave it a wiggle from side to side & Hey presto, it opened.
one tell tail sign that there may be a mismatch in mechanism to catch is an uneven shut gap one side to the other. It's not allways the case, but on the ones i've seen, it does make a difference.

Thanks for all of those; the bonnet (OK service compartment) is refusing to move, am getting worried about the amount of pressure I am applying. Will have a go with a friend to wiggle it at the weekend; my arms are not quite long enough!
Are there any other 6'4" S1 Daily drivers out there?
The boot has been realigned, greased re bolted on and it still releases. The lid must twist a bit first time i accelerate hard and then it releases.
More fiddling at the weekend.
Thanks for the help!

Not sure about your bonnet, is there resistance on the cable, i.e. it hasn't snapped has it?Are there any other 6'4" S1 Daily drivers out there?

On the boot thing, oddly enough, mine did exactly the same yesterday, at first I thought i'd just not shut it properly but it did it again. What I noticed was that I'd knocked the cable at the boot end so the cable sleeve wasn't sat correctly in its hole and was preventing the latch from properly engaging. Worth a check.
