seat spec change - when was change- are they an improvement.

Im looking to buy an S2 111s, the more i read the more im confused. it seems that around 2004 the seat spec changed to a better looking leather faced seat with white stitching.

Ive done a search on here but cant find anything.

Can anyone assist.

Also was additional sound proofing added to these cars at some point

The 111s spec changed in late 03 and was known as the 04 upgrade. Improved seats, touring pack and insulated softtop plus hardtop and electric windows.All the late 03 onwards models have the extra options. If unsure look at the gearstick newer models have leather gaitor and central locking/electric windows.

Edit sorry hardtop and insulated softtop not until 05. They also moved the windscreen tank from the front to rear from 04 spec onwards.

Can anyone comment on the new style seats, are they an improvement on the previous. I do like the 'classic racer' look of them.

Im going round in circles looking at these cars but inclined towards an 05 model 111s for the improved spec. No that im bothered about leccy windows, I just like the new seats!

I was told by the dealer that the Probax seats were introduced in 2006. I test drove a 53 111s and then sat in an 08 Probax seated Elise. the Probax were fa more comfier!

Yeah, the probax really sold me on my 111R... fantastic seats..
