Some seriously scary sales figures for June. Hummer down 53%, GM down, Ford down 28% but many European makers suffer also:

Hold the front page! Americans finally realise that Hummers are retarded and the smart, innovative, high-quality manufacturers like Honda increase their market share. Where's the news? It's obvious this was going to happen to anyone apart from the Hummer board members.

A browse through the myriad Forums at Edmunds.com provides a fascinating insight into the American psyche re cars.

No real surprise that, given their high, (to them), gas prices USA consumers are turning away from domestic products.

It's a little more retarded, or better we say misleading, to compare Hummer and Honda sales in relation to present fuel prices. Hummer sell a large percentage of vehicles to military and industrial users. Honda sell a large percentage of vehicles into domestic markets. Hummer and Honda are leagues apart in units manufactured/sold.

What is of concern is the relationship towards current buying trends for these different markets, and if the present trend is directly a result of current fuel prices, or other factors vectored into somewhat longer term sales trends.

Winnebago sales are down 73%!!!

The great American love affair with the outback is waning. Wonder what a Winnebago does to the gallon....
