The latest BHP boostimg mods have had the side effect of letting a lot of air into the driver's side of the engine bay (intake and tubby side.
Great as I have a total cold air feed and the tubby gets a lot of air over the housing but was causing a lot of lift on the old bonnet which was still as hell.
This new one is much more flexible and has more venting to the rear so should, when pinned, solve the issues at track speeds. Lift on the old bonnet at >120 was about 2" along the side even with pins!
eta. Next mod will also be non-bhp related - new suspension bushing all round and a full geom setup plus a set of R888s or similar!

Iainb, What base fuel pressure are you running on yours. I'm running 3 Bar and i reckon it could do with being 3.5 Bar.Great as I have a total cold air feed and the tubby gets a lot of air over the housing but was causing a lot of lift on the old bonnet which was still as hell.

300atw on 0.75 is really good... crank it up to 1 bar and it should be storming if it spools nicely!

Its Spooling nicely, will probably do a couple of track days at .75 then go up to 1 bar. Need to plumb the external wastegate back in as its fecking loud!
That's always a struggle with big(er) bhp rotaries! Silly noise limits.Last track day at brands mine was reading 94db at the back of the pipe. 103db inder the middle of the car.
Turns out the garage that bolted on my new back-box forgot to do the bolting to the mid section bit... The lack of exhaust definately helped build boost a bit quicker though!

lol, naa, just miss the old Rex.
I think its quite telling that since selling her on, i've driven cars such as:
F430, Gallardo, Murcielago, Aston V8/DB9, Porker 997 Turbo, Maserati GranTurismo, Bentley Conti GT, Cayman S etc etc
But i still miss the Rex. They are truly unique cars, and given the chance i'd buy my old car back in a heartbeat...
