Apologies for such a basic question but this is the first time I've owned a car with a seperate chasis and I wondered what are the best points front, rear and sides to jack up a Chimaera?
Thanks

Jack it up under the corner plate on each outrigger, just in front of the rear wheels and just behind the front wheels. If using axle stands, place them under the main chassis rails (running front to back).

I'd also advise to check the condition of jacking points before trying!!

I've always been afraid to jack up on the outrigger corner points so I slide the jack unde a bit further and position the jack under the main square section of the chassis. Its a bit tight if using the standard jack but it can be done.

Is it OK to use axle stands under the suspension arms?

Me aswell
Got a couple of planks off wood drive onto them which gives greater height then i can jack the car up on the subframe where the towing eye is.
As for the rear using the planks again maybe not a good idea but i jack up on the diff as i struggle to get the jack on the rear subframe but i have jacked on the rear corner plates but i don't like doing it.

All the outrigger corners are braced diagonally to the main chassis and, if they're in good condition as m4rk advises to check, they're very strong. After all, if your local TVR specialist has a two-post ramp they'll lift the entire car by these plates alone.

Absolutely. I have a two post lift and quite happily use the outriggers to lift with.

If it's going to be up there for a couple of days, I normally stick a huge piece of wood across the chassis rails and lift off that. Problem is that the chassis rails are quite far under the car so it's a hassle using them normally.

I'll re-iterate the tip about driving onto a plank of wood- you'll find it very hard to use a car jack with a low car like a Chimaera unless you use these!
