dear all

having probs with central locking in my x type,

some times the key fob will not lock the doors so have to lock all locks individually, it will unlock centrally, but normally with one push of the button only drivers door unlocks it is now not doing this and all doors are being unlocked.

The doors are also not automatically locking when i pull away.

Any ideas?

hi

My 01 x-type sometimes has a similar problem. I found that sometimes when i take the key out of the ignition the central locking doesnt work but when i manually push the ignition in ,with my finger,it clicks and the problem is solved! Let me know if this helps

for the non locking ,when you have removed the ignition key,
check the little flap has closed over ,if not a little squirt of wd40 may free it

if that fails it could be the battery in the remote

for the auto locking

Door auto lock feature enable/disable

1. Turn ignition on but don't start the engine.
2. Lock the door by pushing in the button by the handle, and then pull the handle slightly to reopen it, repeat this sequence twice more.
3. Turn the ignition off and leave it off.
4. Lock the door by pushing in the button by the handle, and then pull the handle slightly to reopen it, repeat this sequence twice more.
5. Turn on the ignition again but don't start the engine. A ping should be heard.
6. Lock the door by pushing the button by the handle, and then pull the handle slightly to reopen again. A final double ping should be heard to indicate auto locking is enabled. If you've disabled the feature another ping will be heard when you drive off and exceed 4mph.

I had to do this twice on mine to get it to work

if this doesn't work try the same with the door on first catch "ajar"
