We have a bi-metal ladies oyster, serial 76183, K series bought from M&W in 2002. The wife no longer wears it, so am looking to sell. I'm reluctant to expose myself to Flea bay scammers, so was wondering where the best place to get this valued/sold would be? Any help appreciated.

In actuality, you may be well advised to advertise on E-bay, since you are very likely to achieve a much better price than a straight dealer offer, even when in px.
If you keep your eye on ebay for equivalent watches, you should get a feel for what the straight sale market will achieve, as well as dealer prices. This will also give you an insight into dealer margins.
Watches that have full provenance fetch more than those without.
Best of luck.!

The Rolex 76183 is a 24mm diameter ladies steel & gold Oyster Perpetual. This is a library image of mine with a white Roman dial (others are available), on the steel and gold Jubilee bracelet. The alternative is the Oyster bracelet.....

Hope it helps....

It seems you have no option these days on ebay but to accept paypal and their ridiculous charges.

If you have a serious buyer then bank transfer is the only option!
I use this on most of my Ebay transactions. As long as the buyer has confidence in you and they can contact you then it shouldn`t be too much of a problem!
They can always collect in person and pay cash etc.
Paypal can be too long winded and sometimes buyers will get you to accept payment and then want to collect the item in person!! Totaly avoid this for obvious reasons!!

Its not their excessive charges that worry me, more that an unscrupulous buyer can easily get refunded by Paypal for a watch that they have received.

So they pay me via Paypal, i send the genuine Rolex, they say that i sent a fake and get their money back ? Is that really how it works? If so, what recourse does the seller have?

This happened to me and a MB pen. The seller turned out to live in the next village, so I knocked on his door. Whilst not being the smallest person, and having a 'security' top on, the message was recieved. Loud and clear.

But apart from that, not a chance of getting it back....
